In today’s real estate market, pets are more than just companions—they are what influence home-buying choices. From seeking homes with spacious yards to proximity to pet-friendly amenities, clients prioritize their pets’ comfort and safety, making it essential for REALTORS® to be aware of these considerations.

Most of my Clients have fur babies as part of their families! They do look for certain features like fenced in back yards, walking trails, dog parks, dog washing stations, etc. This applies to sell, buy and lease properties. I have 3 rescue dogs in our family circle and I love having a pet door and pet waste stations scattered around my neighborhood! Now if we could just get every dog owner to pickup after their pets!!! 🙂
I did not have or want pets 4 years ago when I purchased my home, so community dog park was NOT on my list of must-haves. Fast forward to today, I have 4 dogs (1 purchased, 3 rescues) and 2.75 cats (my neighbor’s cat spends more time at my house than his own lol). Now I need a catio and wish we had a fenced in dog park. My backyard is currently being redesigned to cater to the dogs. Pets definitely rule the market!
